    How much money will I need for my deposit?

    The sum of money required for your home deposit differs depending on your lender. Different lenders have different standards when it comes to financing your homebuilding project. There are many factors that lenders normally take into account when considering your application for a loan. The most obvious of these factors include your employment circumstances and your current financial commitments. Of course, they will also assess your financial history and credit rating. Once they have gained a clear idea of these factors, they will demand a deposit. Normally, the lender will require between 5% and 20% of the purchase price. It is important to remember that this varies, so you will have to discuss it with your lender. This is the hardest part of buying a house, but with the First Home Owners Grant it is possible to build with a relatively small deposit.

    What is a soil report?

When we get the results from your soil test, we will then be able to design the most appropriate home for your block of land.     Do I have to get a site investigation?

    At Dixon Homes, we do require a site investigation for all of our homebuilding projects. This is standard practice within the industry. It is also vital to ensure that the design of your home matches the block of land. In addition to this, a thorough site investigation allows us to identify any potentially hidden costs that might arise later in the build.
